Before I start with my day at the Olympic Park, I thought I'd share these photos of the Olympic Torch relay that took place in Doncaster earlier in the year. Local legend and war hero, Ben Parkinson walked with the flame on his two prosthetic legs and then Sky Sports' Chris Kamara took the flame onwards. The close up photo of Ben was used for the logo of a beer brewed in his name, 'Ben Parkinson's Gold Medale'.

Footage from the Olympic Torch Relay in Doncaster. Amazing scenes as Ben Parkinson carries the flame through his home town with 1000's of locals lining the streets to cheer him on! Ben's mother and regiment follow. The torch is then passed on and Sky Sports' Chris Kamara then takes the flame forward.
Lakeside in Doncaster, South Yorkshire is a great place to visit with a wide variety of wildlife and some nice views.
