This was my second visit to Yorkshire Wildlife Park, my first visit was back in January 2013, you can see photos from that trip HERE. This time the sun was out in all it’s glory which I think always makes for better shots than when the light is soft. Also this time I had a better idea how to use the camera. This time around I went with my family and we timed our route around the park to incorporate a few of the talks that the keepers do. We saw a short demonstration with the barn owl that did a few loops around our head and hopped across a few posts. We also saw another type of owl, this one wasn’t quite as well behaved and would not do as it was told.
Since my last visit some tiger cubs had been born. Unfortunately a pro photographer with a massive lens and tripod was hogging the spot where you could see them, but I managed to get a half-decent shot standing on my toes and looking over his shoulder. Another thing I saw this time which I didn’t get to see last time was the lemurs in action. They were swinging around and jumping off tress. Even the baby lemurs were swinging on the ropes that line the pathway. On our way back we caught feeding time for the meerkats. They were given dead mice and for desert, frozen fruit lollipops. Lovely.
