A cinematic montage filmed at Lakeside in Doncaster. I had a day off work and it was a beautiful day so I decided to go for a walk around the lake with my new Sony A6400 with the 18-135mm lens. The purpose of this video was to set myself a little challenge. I had one camera, one lens and gave myself one hour to film something. I had planned to film a short video at Lakeside at some point soon, but I thought this might challenge me to see what I could create with with minimal equipment and a short amount of time. Have a look at what I came up with below. I usually take a few different lenses or a second camera on shoots like these to get some flexibility with the shots, but I wanted to see just how versatile the Sony 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 actually was. I found I never really needed a bigger zoom range. There were only one or two occasions where I wish it did stretch a little further, but it really wasn't a problem.
I've used the Sony RX100 IV for a few years now so I'm quite familiar with Sony's complex menu system, so navigating the A6400 wasn't an issue. This was only my second time using the Sony A6400, the first project I filmed with it was the Doncaster Rovers Silver Membership promo video, which you can see here. Filming in the midday sun isn't always the best, but I'm quite pleased with some of the shots I was able to get.
